Let's answer a few questions I get all the time
HOW LONG UNTIL MY CHILD IS BETTER?
Every child’s journey is different, but often we begin to notice some positive changes within the first few months. The first changes may not always be in the area you’re hoping for most, such as speech, academics, or social connection.
Long-term care may be needed to support deeper, lasting changes, and there is no set timeline for healing.
Each child moves at their own pace.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I SEE YOU EVERY 3 MONTHS INSTEAD OF 5 WEEKS?
I completely understand that life can get busy, and sometimes stretching appointments out feels like the easier option. There is no judgment in that, I simply want you to understand why I recommend staying a little more closely connected, especially in the earlier stages of your child’s care.
When we go several months between appointments, it can become harder to see the little changes happening along the way and to understand exactly how your child is responding to their remedy.
And as parents, when you’re not seeing the changes, you were hoping for, it’s completely natural to wonder, “Is this working?” You may decide to try something else in the meantime. Again, there is no judgment in that. But when we reconnect, it can make the picture more complicated because we are now looking at several things that may have influenced your child since our last appointment.
Regular follow-ups allow me to see where your child is, what has changed, and whether we need to stay the course or make an adjustment. Sometimes a small change in symptoms can give us important information about what your child needs next.
When we wait another two or three months, we may simply miss opportunities to make those adjustments along the way.
My goal with regular follow-ups isn't to keep you coming back unnecessarily. It's about staying connected to your child's process so that we can work together, notice the changes, even the small ones, and respond when they need us to.
Healing doesn't always happen in a straight line. Having regular check-ins allows us to navigate those changes together, rather than trying to piece everything together months later.
WHEN WILL MY CHILD BE ABLE TO READ AND DO ACADEMICS?
I know how important reading and academics are, and it’s natural to wonder when your child will be ready.
When a child’s body is under a lot of stress, their energy may be focused on more basic needs like regulating, resting, sleeping, and digestion. As those foundations become easier, we can often see more space for curiosity, creativity, connection, and learning.
We’re not putting academics aside; we’re helping create the foundation for your child to be ready for them.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT NOT TO SUPPRESS MENTAL, EMOTIONAL, FEVER, COLD OR SKIN SYMPTOMS?
When symptoms appear, we don’t always want to rush to stop them. Sometimes they can be signs that the body is responding and trying to restore balance.
This may look like emotional expression, crying, changes in bowel or urine output, perspiration, a runny nose, cough, fever, or skin eruptions.
Rather than simply trying to silence every symptom, we want to understand what your child’s body is communicating and support the process appropriately.
I READ ONLINE THAT ANOTHER HOMEOPATH USES THIS OR THAT REMEDY. CAN WE TRY IT TOO?
Please keep researching and asking questions! I truly value your input because no one knows your child quite like you do.
I always make note of the remedies and ideas you bring to me. I may not always use them right away, but that doesn’t mean I’m dismissing them. Sometimes the timing isn’t right, and we may circle back to them later as your child’s picture unfolds.
Please keep reading, researching, and sharing. We’re working together, and your observations matter.
